Otorohanga Kiwi House

At the Otorohanga Kiwi House, every visitor is assured of seeing kiwi on our guided tour of the nocturnal house. Enjoy New Zealand's original walk-through aviary, see native birds in a natural forest habitat. The park carries out a successful breeding programme which includes kiwi, waterfowl, tuatara and native reptiles. Situated in Otorohanga, 1km off main road to Waitomo Caves. Our well-stocked shop has a selection of wildlife-oriented gifts, souvenirs, books and also sells cold drinks and snack foods. Otorohanga Zoological Society is dedicated to the conservation of New Zealand's wildlife heritage through display, education and breeding. Open 9am-4.30pm, 7 days (except Christmas Day).
