Woodville Information
Woodville lies at the northern end of the Tararua Ranges, close to the gap between them and the Ruahine Ranges formed by the Manawatu River. This, the Manawatu Gorge, provides the easiest access between the east and west coasts of the southern North Island, and as such is a major transportation link. The Palmerston North-Gisborne railway line and State Highway 3 runs through the gorge, and the latter has its junction with State Highway 2 at Woodville.
